Description
The first set of Devienne’s 6 Duos Concertantes for two bassoons, including duets numbers 1, 2, and 3.Devienne was a contemporary of W.A. Mozart, but while Mozart’s work emerges from the more heavy, German tradition, Devienne’s work embraces the light and delicate quality of French woodwind playing. Devienne, though he was the professor of flute at the Paris Conservatory, was also a bassoonist in the Paris Opera, and a prolific composer in numerous genres.Devienne’s witty and lyrical style clearly shines through the duration of these works. Appropriate for teacher/student duets, recital performances, and studio performances. Includes one performance score.
